EXPERIENCE -- 1989 to Present
Professor and curriculum developer for the Commercial Art program
at Owens Community College, P.O. Box 10,000, Toledo, OH 43699, (419) 661-7466

Responsibilities include development, coordination and teaching of curriculum which incorporates visual communication and concentrated instruction of the major computer illustration, page layout and multimedia, internet and digital video programs including PageMaker, FreeHand and Power Point, Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXPress, Director, GoLive, LiveMotion, InDesign and AvidDV.

I have expert knowledge of the Macintosh computer platform, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems, system set-up and networking, hard drive and application maintenance, and peripherals including PostScript laser and color printers, color scanners, video capture boards, digitizing tablets and dye sublimation printer. I arranged for educational pricing with the major software venders (saving the college thousands of dollars over catalog price) and also established authorized training status with several of them, and have been responsible for equipment upgrades and purchases. The computer and design components of this curriculum were entirely developed by me, and the program has grown from 17 students when I began to over 200. Several students have completed their freshman and sophomore years at Owens and continued on for their bachelor's degree at area Universities in a 2 + 2 program. I have taught many students over the past ten years who completed four-year degrees in art or graphic design and needed more hands-on computer training. I have also taught computer seminars for Continuing Ed ranging from 8-16 hours in length.
